SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
Crisp saltiness, perfumed floral notes and thick sweet toffee.
Rich deep vanilla fruit flavors, apricot and pineapple, plump sultana.
Long and dry with gentle warming spice.
This is the second 18 year Glen Scotia in my possession. The first was a special single cask, cask strength bottling by the Whisky Store UK. I picked it up in Edinburgh. It was outstanding. The expectations for this bottle were lower but the reality was worse. First, the whisky in this bottle is much darker so a significant amount of coloring agent was present. The taste was flat and lacked complexity experienced in the special bottling. It is hard to believe that both these whiskys are 18 years old from the same source. I will get another Glen Scotia but only the special bottlings. This one is a mistake.
