Shenk's Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey is part of Michter's Legacy Series, celebrating the brand's deep-rooted history dating back to 1753 when John Shenk, a Swiss Mennonite farmer, founded the original distillery. This whiskey is crafted using the traditional sour mash process, incorporating a portion of the previously distilled mash into each new batch. The 2023 release features a significant amount of rye and is aged in a combination of Chinquapin oak and French oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and depth.
