  1. Waiting for a Special Day 5 Star Review

The bartender in the Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World introduced me to Bain's. As a straight Scotch drinker, I fell in love with it. I now have two bottles shipped to my home, and am waiting for that Special Day to share an extraordinary experience.

  2. Scotland in South Africa 5 Star Review

I was introduced to Bain's Cape Mountain Whiskey by Barry Thomas at his Jambo Guest House in Cape Town. It is an exceptional single grain whiskey and I traveled back to the States with a bottle from the duty free stashed in my carry on. I invited all of my whiskey-drinking mates to sample that bottle and to a person, everyone has found the elixir delightful and one of the best whiskeys they have ever tasted. Thanks to the Whiskey Shop I have been able to restock my bar and buy a bottle to gift to a friend on his 80th birthday.

  3. You'll like it 4 Star Review

Bain's is no Wild Reeds from the awarded Schoonspruit distillery out of Cape Town, but is far more popular among the locale. African whiskey hasn't developed in The States yet, but I predict Bain's will be an early adoption. I prefer it on rocks after resting for a few minutes, but would be lekka as an old fashion as well. I rate it a 4 as it's atop the list of African Whiskeys, but below some top shelf whiskey from other established nations. Bains is truly a unique buy at a great price point, thanks to the depressed SA Rand. I'm happy I found it for a reasonable price on this website.
